Annual Remedial Reports

This report (see report links to the right) provides data on the numbers of recent Washington High School Graduates who enrolled in pre-college or remedial courses at Washington's public baccalaureate colleges and universities during the 2005-2006 academic year.

In the past, each institution separately distributed this information. For the past five years, in an effort to make this information more usable, it has been produced as a single consolidated report. This report uses the same data definitions used in separate reports in the past, but unduplicates students who have attended more than one of these institutions during the 2005-2006 academic year.

The Council of Presidents' Office coordinated the involvement of the five participating baccalaureate institutions. A useful description of remedial programs was compiled by the Council of Presidents' Office, and can be downloaded here.

Because some students at the baccalaureate institutions also take remedial courses at community or technical colleges, this report should be viewed in combination with the developmental education report produced by the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

Additional information from the State Board for Community and Technical College remedial enrollment is available in their statewide remedial report:

School districts interested in obtaining State Board for Community and Technical College data on remedial enrollment by local graduates should contact Linda St. John at 360-704-4352, or email lstjohn@sbctc.ctc.edu.

For more information about the data, please see our data notes.
