College Remediation Studies
One of the critical topics facing today’s educational system is how to prepare all students for the next step after high school graduation. SESRC has conducted several studies on students who need remedial math and/or English courses in college. Questions have included:
- How do high school courses/grades relate to their need for remediation in college?
- Are students who skip math in their senior year at a greater risk for needing remedial work?
- To what degree does WASL performance predict the later need for remediation among students who attend college?
