Focus Groups

SESRC has over 30 years experience in designing, conducting, and reporting on focus groups on a variety of topics. SESRC has experience in recruiting, selecting, and using incentives to attract focus group participants. SESRC designs focus group moderator guides that establish a rapport with participants and assure confidentiality, stimulate interaction and encourage balanced participation, properly introduce the various topics and transition from one topic to the next, probe for deeper meaning on key questions and relevant issues, pursue unexpected “leads” with follow-up questions, and bring closure to the discussion with an ending question.
