Writing
and Publication Data Reports
The
SESRC produces three different types of reports for clients.
These reports differ in the degree to which the data are analyzed
and interpreted. Additionally, the SESRC can assist clients,
faculty, and students in their efforts to publish results of
their
research.
Data
Reports. This is a simple codebook outlining the
procedures used to collect, analyze, and store the data. It
provides a printed listing of the frequency distributions,
statistical program, and copies of all survey instruments
(i.e., questionnaires, letters, and post-cards). Included
with the report is a CD-rom containing a copy of the data
and statistical program.
Technical
Reports. This differs from the Data Report in
that it contains an introduction describing the study's
goals and objectives. It provides a written explanation
of all methodological procedures followed and an interpretation
and summary of the results with respect to the study
goals and objectives. The level of statistical analysis
incorporated into such a report depends on its goals
and objectives. The SESRC Technical Report presents results
in written, tabular, and graphic formats.
Research
Reports. The Research Report is similar in style
to reports contained in professional journals. It contains
a literature review establishing a theoretical objective
and/or policy goal.
