CATI System

SESRC conducts interviews from a centralized facility consisting of 60 computer assisted telephone interviewing stations. The Center utilizes a software package called "Interviewer" developed by Voxco.  Interviewer is a powerful and versatile software package that assists in collecting data for any type of questionnaire. Its applications range from network telephone interviewing (CATI System) to automated data collection on portable computers (CAPI) using questionnaires of any level of complexity or sophistication. Its superior design and implementation result from 20 years of experience in the field of computerized survey data collection and analysis.

The CATI system increases the efficiency and cost effectiveness of conducting large scale sample surveys. It reduces coding and data entry errors and also improves data management and processing capabilities since these tasks are automatically recorded by the computer, avoiding the necessity for separate coding and data entry steps.
